Asylum in the USA from Venezuela (aka HELL on EARTH)?

I am from Venezuela. I have a student visa in America that lasts for 5 years. My English cl in America lasted only 6 months so I went back to hell (Venezuela) for about 6 months after my clases. Now I am returning to America to go back to English school and wish to apply for asylum. Is this possible? Is it easy to get asylum? I know someone that did this back in 2003 but things were different then. Will things be easier for me since I am a white Venezuelan from European descent. I want to work and the student visa wont allow this.
