Do you think ethanol with Sulfur and Lithium instead of a hydroxyl group would still get you drunk?

I was sitting in cl and noticed not all alcohols get you drunk so the hydroxyl group isn't what causes the feeling of being drunk. So I wondered do you think that an ethanol will a lithium and sulfur where the hydroxyl group would still produce this effect?
