How do you cope with a Christian friend who you find out lied to you because they were ashamed of their ual?

I would just realize that not everyone is able to open up about their past...shame, trust issues, whatever. People come to Christ after a lot of different experiences. People also fall away from Christ and stop living the way He wants them to. People make mistakes, they are not proud of them. Was there some reason you NEEDED to know about the past of those girls? Would that affect your friendship with them? It not, then why does it matter?
