How do you add a created player to a created team in madden 07?

I made a team on madden 07 but i want to add some players to that i made without making a franchise. i want to play the REAL packers and bears and stuff not fantasy stuff. when i go to the team rosters page, my team doesn't show up. i just want to know it there is a way to do this without creating a franchise. me and my little bro are tryin to figure it out right now cuz we wanna replace our QBs, FBs, and a reciever or two
