Parallelism, paradox, ogy?? im confused. emergency?

Ok. I am really freaked out at this moment because I am stuck on these literary terms I already have to be familiar with. I am confused which one is which or which one is implied or which one is directly stated in the text. please ..no random links with lists of literary terms but could u help me understand these in your own words..? ogy is an example..parallelism is an example with similarities to the original. paradox is a contradiction of something? could you possibly give me examples of each...i don't understand how there are so many paradoxes in the world..i heard that...so now i am confused...help me please? im really nervous..i know ..i should have done this long before...but on a practice test i got stuck and went over the time limit because i was arguing with myself whether it was a paradox or parallelism or an ogy...???!!!!
